Wednesday: E & his friend Poppy (didn't get her mum's permission so can't show her face) & Ethan had his first muddy trousers today!

Thursday: The sky was so blue, I couldn't help it! I know its random!

Friday: We gave E his workbench today. I've been drip feeding his gifts from Christmas! & I made an apple, pork & Black Pudding pie for dinner, it was experimental but delicious!

Flashback: Rainy Days

I'm sat here on my sofa on this rainy Saturday and the strangest thing just popped into my head. My hubby had just placed a vase of flowers that Ethan picked for me on the mantelpiece. Ethan is in the corner playing with his workbench and the most beautiful instrumental worship music is playing. I was suddenly transported to this moment when I must've been 8 or 9 years old in Africa. The rain was pouring (in Africa when it rains, it rains) and similar music was playing and I was sat with my mummy. I got this warm fuzzy feeling inside and I got that again today. It's so weird how music evokes things for you.

Happy Saturday!

What am I to do with YOUR hang ups?

A little Warning: This is a brain dump.

Source: thinkbaby.com
I have just come in from a group and to be honest I'm feeling a little tense. My Ethan was doing what he does going here there and everywhere. I was having a hard time supervising since there was little floor space and lots of boisterous toddlers about. Anyway, This lady has a son that is the same age as Ethan. She spent the entire time comparing them. One phrase that is going round my head was when she said " He is always on the go, well for me" Obviously projecting unto me that I wouldn't think He was on the go because E cruises quicker. I didn't know what to say to be honest. Everyone knows Children grow & develop differently. I left feeling bad that Ethan can do all the things he can.

I really try hard to stay out of this competition thing that some mothers like to do and furthermore, I struggle with comparing myself with others because I realise that comparison is a Joy-stealer.

How would you deal with situations like this? Let me know.

Mamatography Week 9

Monday: Ethan at Baby Gym. I decided that we needed something more active in our lives. I like this group coz we get to get wild and then cool down with bubbles and the facilitator is brilliant at getting us to focus on our signing since each week is themed.

Tuesday: My mum arrived and E starts to literally crawl circles round her. She looks at me to say "What is your son doing?!" Then I remember that they chase each other round the floor. That was the first time he showed us that he linked an activity with a person other than DH & I. Wowzers!

Wednesday: E laying on my lap watching "Big & Small" It's our new favourite. My hubby says he likes them coz they co-sleep! That makes me chuckle!

Thursday: We went for a walk by the beach and E did his first outdoor steps. I was holding his hand and he loved the freedom, I looked down and he looked too small to be walking by my side even though he had his big boy grin.

Friday: Ethan managed to reach up to our dining table and get his dad's wallet and he was so pleased with himself. I was just amazed that he could reach!

First sign of spring: Our Cherry Blossom tree is sprouting buds and a few flowers yay!

Saturday: We had a really chilled morning, then we discovered a new Cafe where they play Vhristian music and a slice of yummy Carrot cake is £1 and a mug of Tea is £0.60. I said to E that we might just have found our new hangout!

Sunday: We drove down to my Mother-in-Law's and we thought to try out our new dvd player before our holiday. It was a success. I'm sick of Peppa Pig though. :-s

Thank you for popping by!

Letter to my Bean : You're 10 months.

My Darling,

You are 10 months. Double digits. O.M.G.
This past month has seen you take your first 2 steps! I was so happy you did it when both your dada and I were watching! You were too quick for us to record it though!

You have a grand total of 7 teeth now and are making strides in your verbal development. You 'converse' with us and if we repeat the 'phrase' you say, you repeat it!  You clap your hands if you are happy about something. You understand "excuse me please" I use that usually when I want to leave the kitchen and you are hanging off the stair gate. When I say that you scoot back and seat down and then wait for it, You give yourself a round of applause!
You understand "come" , "nom nom" - that's food. I wish you would understand "Stop/No" too. You usually just giggle at me. I'm sure it'll come in time!

You are one cheeky chappy! You make me laugh. I'm in the throes of planning your party and I'm loving it!
I love you so much bubba. I found this poem that describes us quite well.

I think that says it all really!
